Vermeer BC1000XL Wood Chipper
BC1000XL
Maximum power from a 12" (30 cm) chipper. The BC1000XL combines an impressive 85 HP (63 kw) engine, a large 12" x 17" (30 cm x 43 cm) feed opening, a clutchless PTO and a rubber-torsion suspension for maximum performance in the field. The BC1000XL also offers a noise-reducing design and has an optional sound-abatement package available that makes it one of the quietest and most productive chippers in the field.

Feature: Clutchless PTO
Benefit: This design combines the Throttle and Clutch enagement mechanism to prevent the drum from being engaged at high RPM. Allows the cutter to be engaged without sliding the engine or using a traditional slip clutch or idler pulley. Practically eliminates the possibility of expensive drive-train repairs caused by abuse. Applies no side-load to the engine, leading to less stress on the crankshaft and bearings. Allows easy belt changes without tools once under the access door.

Benefit: This patented feed sensing control system offers all of the same advantages as the SmartFeed system on the BC1800XL. This feed sensing control system increases productivity. Customers can choose between 3 RPM "droop" settings to make the BC1000XL fit their specific application. A simple "plug in" cartridge is installed to change from one RPM setting to another.

Feature: Bottom Feed Stop Bar
Benefit: The BC1000XL is also equipped with RESET/HOLD to RUN buttons on each side of the infeed housing to make the reset process simple and quick if the bar is tripped. These RESET buttons can also be depressed for up to 30 seconds to over ride the bottom bar temporarily during difficult feeding conditions.
