Vermeer BC1800XL Wood Chipper
BC1800XL
Faster speed and larger capacity equal high productivity. This 19" (48 cm) capacity brush chipper possesses the strength to meet the needs of large-diameter chipping operations. Land clearing contractors, tree care companies and municipalities can choose from two John Deere engine options - a 115 hp (85 kw) and a 170 hp (126 kw). A chute design allows for multi-directional chute rotation and infinite anglesof chip discharge. The standard Vermeer integrated throttle and clutch engagement system is also included on the BC1800XL. An optional 2000 lb (907 kg) winch aids in gathering and lifting large, heavy material.

Feature: Large 19" (48 cm) Capacity
Benefit: The BC1800XL feed opening has been increased to allow feeding of 19" (48 cm) diameter material and below. Bent or forked material can be processed and material prep time is reduced. Larger diameter on-site processing equates to less transport expense due to un-chippable logs.

Feature: Integrated Throttle and Clutch Mechanism
Benefit: This feature is modeled after the successful patented concept used on Vermeer BC1000XL, BC1400XL and SC60TX machines. The throttle integrated with the clutch engagement process ensures that the PTO can only be engaged while the engine is at low idle/low RPM. Operators cannot use the Clutch engagement process to forcefully dislodge debris from the cutting chamber.

Benefit: Integrated into the SmartFeed controller is a hydraulic over pressure sensor that detects a possible stall of the feed roller motors during the feeding process. Prior to a stall this controller will initiate a reversing sequence that actually manipulates the material back and forth (a greater distance each time) until the material goes through the rollers and into the chipping chamber. In many cases this automatic repeated reversing action by the controller repositions the material and eliminates the need for operator interface or interaction. The constant handling by an operator of the upper feed control bar is also reduced if not eliminated. The operators on site can continue to gather material or finish their work while the machine automatically completes the processing.
