Wood/Chuck Chipper Corp. Why Wood/Chuck? Since 1969, Wood/Chuck has dedicated its product line to the commercial arborist. Beginning with the first Wood/Chuck self feeding drum chipper, the focus has been on building a product that would please the owner with performance, longevity and minimal downtime. The operators were considered when Wood/Chuck standardized on a dependable blade system that was also simple to maintain and calibrate. As Wood/Chuck enters its thirty fifth year, the success of those objectives are still being realized. Many of the chippers built in 1969 are still in the field operating and Wood/Chuck continues to sell hundreds of the units based on the original design each year. This testament to design and longevity is the foundation for Wood/Chuck to remain a leader in commercial chippers for many more years. Wood/Chuck produces two genres of "controlled feed" chippers in order to provide the commercial arborist a "full" tool box from which to choose. ASC ANSI Z-133 distinguishes the "controlled feed" chippers as those units that have a dedicated feed system that is independent from the cutting system. Unlike the "self feeding" chippers, controlled feed chippers utilize a system that advances the material toward the cutting mechanism. Wood/Chuck utilizes two different cutting mechanism designs and several feed system designs to taylor each chipper for its intended purpose. All Wood/Chuck controlled feed chippers do have one thing in common and that is the unique patent pending "Panic Bar" that provides operators an easily accessed activation bar to instantly stop the feed system.
